Autism Integration Sessions

Post-Diagnosis Concierge Service

Understanding yourself in a new way after an adult autism diagnosis

Receiving an autism diagnosis as an adult can bring a surprising mix of emotions. For many people, there is relief in finally having language for experiences they’ve had for years; differences in communication, sensory processing, social interaction, or the way their brain organizes information.

At the same time, a diagnosis can raise new questions:

What does this mean about me?
How does it change the way I understand my past?
What do I do with this information now?

Some adults want ongoing therapy after a diagnosis. Others simply want a thoughtful space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what they’ve learned about themselves.

These sessions are designed for that moment. They are designed to help you process, understand, and integrate your diagnosis in a supportive and thoughtful way.

A Space to Process and Understand

This service is designed for adults who have recently been diagnosed with autism and want support integrating that understanding into their lives.

Together we will explore:

Your emotional response to the diagnosis

What your assessment report means in everyday terms

What autism actually is, and what it isn’t

How past experiences may make more sense in light of this new understanding

Ways to move forward that better support your unique brainstyle

Many late-diagnosed autistic adults describe their diagnosis as both validating and emotional.

There can be relief in finally understanding yourself, and sometimes grief for the years spent trying to fit into environments that didn’t quite work for you.

Both experiences are common, and both deserve space.

Understanding Autism Through a New Lens

Much of the information people encounter about autism is shaped by stereotypes or outdated ideas.

Autism is not a personality flaw or something that needs to be fixed.

It is a neurodevelopmental difference, a variation in how the brain processes information, sensory input, communication, and the social world.

Learning about autism from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective often allows adults to begin seeing themselves with greater clarity and compassion.

Making Sense of the Past

One of the most meaningful parts of this work is looking back at your life through a new lens.

Many adults begin to notice patterns that once felt confusing or self-critical.
Why certain environments felt overwhelming.
Why social dynamics required so much effort.
Why masking or pushing yourself to “keep up” became necessary.
Why rejection or seemingly small moments sometimes felt deeply painful or even traumatic.

Seeing these experiences in the context of autism often shifts the way people talk to themselves about their past.

Instead of asking, “What was wrong with me?”
The question becomes, “What was I navigating that no one understood at the time?”

That shift can be deeply healing.

Moving Forward With Greater Self-Understanding

These sessions also focus on what comes next.

With a clearer understanding of your neurotype, you can begin thinking about how to shape your life in ways that better support your brain.

This might include:

Understanding sensory and energy needs

Identifying environments that help you function and thrive

Exploring strategies that fit your natural processing style

Reflecting on how much masking feels sustainable or authentic

Thinking about whether, and how, you might share this part of your identity with others

For some people, sharing their diagnosis feels empowering.
For others, privacy feels more comfortable.

There is no single right path.
The goal is simply to help you make thoughtful choices that feel supportive for you.

What the Process Looks Like

This service includes four structured sessions, designed to help you process and integrate your diagnosis, with the option to extend for additional support if needed.

Session 1 | Processing the Diagnosis

We begin by exploring your reactions and the emotions that may have come up since receiving the diagnosis.

Session 2 | Understanding Autism and Your Report

We review key themes from your assessment and talk about autism through a neuro-affirming lens.

Session 3 | Reinterpreting the Past

We look at past experiences with new understanding and compassion.

Session 4 | Moving Forward

We explore ways to move forward with greater clarity, including strategies, support needs, and decisions around disclosure.

You want help understanding what the diagnosis means for you

You’re experiencing a mix of relief, confusion, or emotion about the news

You want support making sense of past experiences

You’re wondering what this understanding means for your future

These sessions provide structured guidance and reflection, rather than ongoing psychotherapy.

Now What?

For many adults, receiving a diagnosis is only the beginning of the journey.

I offer Autism Integration Sessions for adults in Idaho and Colorado, providing a supportive space to process and understand what your diagnosis means for you.

These sessions are designed to support that process, giving you both a space to reflect and a clear, personalized plan for moving forward.

If you’re wondering whether this is the right fit, the next step is to schedule a consultation where we can talk through your needs and what support might look like for you.
